About PSU (Public Sector Undertaking)
PSU stands for Public Sector undertaking , this is the sector owned by government of India or
state government. Several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under the aegis of Government of
India regularly provide tremendous employment opportunities in various technical and
management areas. The PSU are further divided into categories like Maratha, Navratna,
Miniratna-1, Miniratna-2. You might have heard about Coal India Limited, SAIL, NTPC,
ONGC, BHEL, IOCL all of these companies comes under Maharatan.
Recruitment in PSU(Public Sector Undertaking)
Most of the PSU require a valid GATE score and recruit on the basis of rank in GATE in
respective domain. if GATE score is not needed, then the candidates will have to take the exam
conducted by respective PSUs.

- Most of the questions in PSU interviews are based on theory, thus candidates are required
to focus on theory area. - The PSU exam is divided into two sections: technical and non-technical. The technical
section focuses on the subject specialization from specific domain, while the non-
technical part includes General Awareness, Reasoning and Aptitude, Current Affairs and
English Reasoning - You also need to go through the PSU website and focus on some important projects,
board members name etc that will help you in the introduction part. - Refer previous paper for more information on type of question asked. For knowing how

Consulting reference books as books are best friend of student.
Prepare for Interview- Candidate should be aware of company profile as many a times interviewer ask about
company. - Candidate must check policies of HR of company. By knowing HR polices candidate comes
to know about the pay scale , designation etc.
A good resume is always a positive point. Candidate should not mention any falsify
information, as interviewer may ask question related to resume. - Candidate should be well revised with the B.Tech project they did i.e. they must have a basic
knowledge of subject, scope, methodology and conclusion of the project. Questions can be
asked based on these topics in any interview. - Wear Formals on the day of Interview and be prepared for a day-long event.
Last not the least be relaxed, calm and positive.
